June Desktop
Friends, it's been so long. I'm not sure I remember how to blog... or how to decorate. This nomadic period in our lives has been fun, but we are ready for a home and a routine. I promise to be back to blogging very soon. In the meantime, enjoy the June desktop background. It features an image of the lovely white cliffs of Etretat, France.
For the Love of Quatrefoil | Spring Wreath
I don't remember exactly when my love affair with quatrefoil began. I just know it is going strong. If you aren't exactly sure what quatrefoil is, I am sure you are in good company. You can find the entire rundown on Wikipedia, but in short it's an architectural design stemming from Gothic roots. I was in quatrefoil heaven on our trip to Venice. It was beautiful and it was abundant.
Unfortunately, quatrefoil is not abundantly available in the world of home decor. I am very okay with that. It means I have to be a little more creative, but it also means my home is that much more unique.
As I was planning out my spring decor, I searched out quatrefoil accessories. In my quest, I found this awesome tutorial on making a quatrefoil wreath!

I finally got a little free time to play today and I put together this wreath. I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out. The colors invoke thoughts of spring and the shape also hints at St. Patty's Day just around the corner.

Declutter With Me On Monday | Week 4
Confession: I skipped this week. Partly because I had family visiting and partly because of what was on the task list this week: storage shelves and storage piles. We have a total of two storage areas in our home. One of these holds extra home decor items and tools. The other holds overflow materials for school as well as crafts. They both could use some organization. I'll be honest. I am tired this week. I've had a lot of other things going on and the last thing I feel like doing is sorting through school books and yarn. I have picked up where week 4 left off and started with decluttering candles. I will post pictures as well as explanation of week 5 on Monday as regularly scheduled. I hope my honesty is inspiring to you. I hope it helps you realize just because you let go of decluttering for a few days {or weeks}, you can just pick right up and join in on the current day. Don't worry about the days you missed. If you do, you will feel like you are constantly playing catch up. If you feel extra inspiration after you've completed the current tasks, then you can go back and make up what you've missed. And with something pretty to look at, I bid you adieu. I hope you have a wonderful weekend with lots of family time and relaxing!

Welcome to Robyn's Reverie
I've been spending quite a bit of time lately reading blogs. Mainly, those of Ali Edwards, Elise Blaha, and Becky Higgins. These women have inspired me so much over the course of the last few months. I have let go of any preconceived notions I had about scrapbooking and memory keeping in general. I've learned when it comes to keeping memories for your family, it is most important to just do it. It doesn't have to be fancy or pretty or complicated. In fact, I've really embraced simplicity as beautiful.

So, why a blog? Many times, I have so many creative thoughts running through my head, I find it hard to sleep. I daydream about home decor, paper crafting, photography, digital design, cooking and fashion. I have a million projects going at one time and two million waiting in the wings. Thanks to my husband's job, we have been so blessed to spend the last 16 months in Europe. Needless to say, there are trials. However, the travel and the experiences have been amazing. I really wanted a place I could collectively keep all of these thoughts and stories and images. I want to be able to share our lives with our loved ones. Mostly, I want this to be a place I can come back and remember all the love, joy and creativity that fills our lives. I hope you enjoy it.
